Blueprint’s Founder and President, Lucy Bernholz, facilitated a retreat of CEOs and trustees of the nation’s largest community foundations. The meeting grounded leaders in key trends in philanthropy and provided these organizations with practical tools to thrive in changing times. Several of these foundations now use Blueprint’s giving portfolio model and are developing new knowledge products and services.
Blueprint has developed a wiki for philanthropic foundations interested in using Web 2.0 technology tools such as blogs, tags, and social networks to improve their grantmaking practices. For each tool, the site provides a brief description of how grantmakers could put it to use, links to actual tools, links to more in-depth information, and simple information about the time and money needed to implement it. The tools are grouped into categories by how they are most often used.
