When necessary, Blueprint R & D partners with outside consultants to provide additional expertise in specific fields. Frequent Blueprint partners include: Catherine Crystal FosterCatherine is an independent consultant, specializing in advocacy and policy related to health and human services, with a focus on children, youth, and families. She is a strategic partner with Blueprint on the firm’s policy and advocacy evaluation work. Her consulting practice includes strategy, evaluation, and issue analysis for grantmakers, as well as policy research and advocacy on behalf of non-profit organizations. Catherine has lectured on welfare policy at Stanford Law School, authored welfare legislation for the District of Columbia, directed anti-poverty programs at the National Association of Child Advocates (now known as Voices for America's Children), and represented Latina domestic violence victims at Ayuda - Clínica Legal Latina. She received a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Ricardo MillettRicardo is an independent consultant to philanthropies and nonprofits. Formerly he was the President of the Woods Fund of Chicago. Prior to this, he was Director of Program Evaluation for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Ricardo has also served as senior vice president of planning and resource management for the United Way of Massachusetts Bay in Boston, deputy associate commissioner of the Department of Social Services for Massachusetts, and senior analyst at ABT Associates, where he worked on research projects that helped to inform national policy in areas such as day care regulations and housing development in urban areas. He has also served as director for Neighborhood Housing and Development for the Boston Redevelopment Authority, executive director of Roxbury Multi-service Center, associate professor of research and evaluation at Atlanta University, and director of the Martin Luther King Center at Boston University. He believes that the logic and practice of program evaluation can and should be made more useful and practical to grantors and grantees alike and has written, lectured, and consulted much on this subject. Lisa RichterLisa Richter, GPS Capital Partners: GPS works with foundations to identify, structure, and implement program and mission-related investments and investment strategy in the context of a foundation's mission, broad strategy, and resources. Lisa brings twenty years of development finance, investing, program design, management, and consulting experience for ShoreBank Corporation, and works in partnership with Blueprint to contribute content to Philanthropy 2173 and Fora.tv.'s Giving Channel. Michael SteinMichael Stein is a nationally renowned author and nonprofit technology expert with over a decade of experience working with nonprofits, foundations, labor unions and technology assistance providers. He is currently the Associate Director of eGrants.org, a nonprofit technology and training service provider based in the Presidio National Park in San Francisco. He is the author of three books about the Internet including the recent "The eNonprofit: A Guide to ASPs, Internet Services and Online Software," with John Kenyon, published by CompassPoint Nonprofit Services. Michael runs Dot Org Media as a joint venture with Marc Osten (Summit Collaborative), a content publishing service that offers an e-newsletter and special reports on key issues in nonprofit technology. His opinion and analysis have been featured in numerous media including The New York Times, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, National Public Radio and Wired News.
