Evaluation:Creating tools to assess organizational capacity

The Marguerite Casey Foundation and its grantees needed a strategy to systematically assess organizational capacity. Blueprint adapted an existing organizational capacity self-assessment tool (developed by McKinsey & Company) to make it relevant for smaller, grassroots advocacy organizations. Grantees gained a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses to support their strategic planning. The foundation will use the information to obtain a portrait of their grantees’ organizational capacity as a group and to track the impact of their core operating support grants over time.
